HEAR COACH OLER TALK ABOUT THE KNIGHTS THIS SUMMER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbumqlVOlsQ

2019 ANALYSIS: The Knights lost several key players from last year’s 6 – 5 team that got up to a great start but finish losing four out of the last five. Wes Oler takes over on a full-time basis with six starters returning offense and six on defense. Northeastern will continue to run the football led by Shane Berry who rushed for 1,089 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2018. Garrett Tudor will run the offense again this season (Coach Oler is expected to implement a new system this season) and will be expected to do more in his junior season. Look for Berry to get help in the backfield from seniors Cade Bray and Wesley Mull. The O-line returns Senior Josh Berger, Senior Nate Pardo and Senior Cullen Browning. Finding two other starters up front will be crucial for Coach Oler early in fall practice. The defense will see similar names in their “4-3” scheme including Berger, Browning and Pardo upfront. The secondary will have Mull, Tudor and Bray returning.

Northeastern has many holes to fill on both sides of the football. If they can get senior leadership and buy into the new offensive system, look for the Knights to make plenty of noise in the TEC this season. Forgetting the drama and the late season collapse will be key for the Knights. Opening at Union County August 23 will be a great early test.
