2023 OUTLOOK: The last winning season for Noblesville was way back in 2001 (7-5). The Millers have several pieces in place to change their outlook in 2023. After opening last season with two impressive wins, the roof caved in with six consecutive losses. Late wins against Avon and Zionsville helped take some of the sting away before losing to a very good Westfield team in the second round of the playoffs.
Head Coach Dave Sharpe will count on senior running back Logan Shoffner (1,414 yards, nine TDs last season). Shoffner is ready to become the schools all-time rushing leader with a solid senior campaign.
Shoffner will have Louisville recruit Ransom McDermott to run behind. Joining Shoffner will be Senior RB Gage Gulley who had 611 rushing yards, eight rushing TDs; eight catches, 196 yards last season and TE Aiden Brewer (15 catches, 267 yards, three TDs).
On defense the Millers have several outstanding players returning including LB Austin Hastings. Hastings compiled 138 tackles and three sacks last season. Defensive linemen Israel Oladipupo and Grayson Owens are the key players upfront. LB Gavin Kinyon recorded 97 tackles, 5 ½ tackles for loss last season and DB’s Cam Wilson (52 tackles), Carter Richardson (34 tackles) and Cole Richardson (21 tackles) are all three-year starters. The Millers have another tough schedule ahead of them, but with the talent they have returning they should have every chance to have a winning season.
