COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2018: THE TOP FIVE IMPACT FRESHMEN
Every season college football produces some of the best freshmen in the country. These are players who can and should make an immediate impact on their team and college football overall. Here are the TOP-5 to watch for in 2018:
QB TREVOR LAWRENCE, CLEMSON
Lawrence is the top rated QB in the 2018 freshmen class. He has excellent size at 6’6”, 202 pounds. Lawrence broke former Clemson QB Deshaun Watson’s high school records in the state of Georgia. All eyes will be on Clemson this fall as Lawrence will battle with Kelly Bryant for the starting job.
CB PATRICK SURTAIN JUNIOR, ALABAMA
Surtain is a playmaker much like his father. He is 6’2”, 198 pounds and is expected to start and make an immediate impact for Head Coach Nick Saban.
QB DORIAN THOMPSON-ROBINSON, UCLA
Thompson is the #4 rated QB in the class of 2018. He arrived at UCLA early and that will give him every chance to win the starting job. Coach Kelly is high on the dual-threat quarterback from Las Vegas, but he must show he can handle the offense.
RB ZAMIR WHITE, GEORGIA
White was one of the highest-ranked running backs in the country coming into the 2017 high school season but was injured and missed the entire season with a torn ACL. He is expected to be ready by the season kick-off September 2.
QB EMORY JONES, FLORIDA
Jones committed to Florida right after Head Coach Dan Mullen was hired. Jones was the #10 rated QB in the 2018 class and has every chance to win the starting job. Returning starter Feleipe Franks will have a lot to say about whether Jones is the signal-caller September 1.
