LAST MEETING: Tech, 54-7, Sep. 6, 2019: Tech RB Jayden Elliott had a great night rushing for 146 yards and scored twice. Richmond’s offense was held to just 92 yards on the night. RB Wyatt Byrd had 41 yards rushing in the loss.

LAST WEEK: Richmond lost their season opener to Mt. Vernon 56-13. The Red Devils managed just 22 yards rushing and 106 yards through the air. QB Drew VanVleet went 9-17 in the passing department with two scores late in the game. Tech dropped a non-conference game against Terre Haute North 28-13. The Titans trailed 14-13 at halftime then the Patriots scored 14 third quarter points to seal the win. Richmond hasn’t played well at Tech since the Titans joined the NCC.

LAST OUTING: Adams Central lost to Eastside, 28-14. Tri defeated Northeastern, 46-0.

RECENT SERIES: No meetings.

LAST WEEK: The Titans rolled over Union City 35-12 in the TEC match-up. Tri RB Vade Dishman had a great night rushing for 181 yards on only 15 carries. Union City was unable to stop the Titans running game giving up 268 yards on the night. Tri’s defense held Union City to just 120 yards of total offense. The Titans were scheduled to play Lincoln but that game was cancelled.

The Flying Jets are 1-1 after losing to Eastside on opening night 28-14 and then downing Fremont last week 42-14. Adams Central is coming off a 12-2 season in 2019.

Centerville at Shenandoah 7 pm

COACHES: Kyle Padgett, 21-21 in 5th year at Centerville. Jordan McCaslin, 26-11 in 4th year at Shenandoah.

LAST MEETING: Shenandoah, 20-6, Sep. 6, 2019: In a close non-conference match-up, Shenandoah beat the Bulldogs in Centerville. QB Ryan Dickenson went 10-16 for 124 yards. RB Jamari Pamplin led the Bulldogs on the ground with 64 yards. The Raiders were hard to stop on the ground outrushing the Bulldogs 223-59. Josh Farmer led the Raiders with 104 yards.

LAST WEEK: The Bulldogs are flexing their muscles early in the TEC with dominating wins over Hagerstown and Lincoln in their first two games by a combined score of 104-6. In the win over Lincoln, The Bulldogs dominated the Golden Eagles from the start leading at the half 48-0. QB Ryan Dickenson continues to lead the conference in passing after going 7-11 and 139 yards in the win. Dickenson added three scores. Centerville added 155 rushing yards. WR Keegan Schlotterbeck had a huge night with six catches and 125 yards with all three scores in the air.

The Raiders are 1-1 following an impressive 14-13 win at Scecina in week one. The schedule was tough again in week two, losing to Heritage Christian 41-21. Senior QB Tanner Goff leads the Raiders in total offense with 199 yards in the air and 277 rushing yards.

This is the game of the week in the area and the first big challenge for the Bulldogs.

  

Knightstown at Union County  7 pm

COACHES: Chad Montgomery, 16-6 in 3rd year at Knightstown. Joel Hofmann, 12-19 in 4th year at Union County.

LAST OUTING: Knightstown defeated Hagerstown, 21-13. Union County defeated Northeastern, 53-15.

OPPONENTS’ RECORDS: Knightstown 0-2. Union County 0-2.

RECENT SERIES:  Knightstown, 4-1

LAST MEETING: Knightstown, 52-7, Sep. 6, 2019: The Panthers dominated the Patriots by halftime leading 39-0. Union County played without starting QB Zach Hill and went with Mason Wicker under center. The Patriots struggled to do anything on offense with only 169 total yards, Wicker accounting for 122. Knightstown racked up 513 yards of total offense with RB Nick Walsh going for 327 and scoring six touchdowns. QB Chase Richmond went 13-14 for 136 yards and a score.

Union County will have Wicker back at RB and Hill back at QB for this meeting. Wicker rushed for 330 yards in his season debut. Hill threw for three scores on 195 passing yards.

Northeastern at Winchester  7 pm

COACHES: Wes Oler, 7-5 in 2nd year at Northeastern. Mike Jones, 51-39 in 9th year at Winchester.

LAST OUTING: Northeastern lost to Tri, 46-0. Winchester lost to Franklin County, 50-7.

RECENT SERIES: Winchester, 22-14

LAST MEETING: Northeastern, 27-14, Sep. 6, 2019: The Knights broke open a close game by scoring 13 fourth quarter points and beat the Golden Falcons 27-14. Northeastern had a huge night rushing the football with 299 yards led by Senior Shane Berry (107) and Wesley Mull (96). Mull added four receptions for 66 yards. Winchester RB Cole Campbell had a big night for the Golden Falcons with 162 yards on 23 carries.

Both teams are off to 0-2 starts and both teams are struggling offensively. Northeastern starts Sophomore QB Carson Terrell who is completing just 41% of his passes in two starts. Alex Mikesell leads the Knights in rushing averaging 68 yards per game on 29 carries. Defense has been an issue through two games for the Knights. They have given up 99 points in two games, allowing Union County RB Mason Wicker to rush for 330 yards in game one and Tri gained 328 yards rushing and 409 yards of total offense. Winchester has struggled as well on both sides of the football losing two non-conference games to South Adams 41-8 and Franklin County 50-7. The Golden Falcons had just 132 yards of total offense against South Adams led by RB Kollin Orr with 82. South Adams had a balanced attack with 354 passing yards and 200 rushing. Against the Wildcats, it was over early after Franklin County scored the first 28 points and went on to a 50-7 victory. Winchester had another tough day on defense allowing 407 yards of total offense. Winchester gained just 73.

  

Union City at Hagerstown  7 pm

COACHES: Keith Maloy, 40-45 in 9th year at Union City. Scott Snodgrass, 55-45 in 10th year at Hagerstown, 64-105 in 17th year overall.

SAGARIN RATINGS: Union City, 24.33, 257th overall, 34th in 1A. Hagerstown, 12.44, 290th overall, 49th in 1A.

LAST OUTING: Union City lost to Tri, 35-12. Hagerstown lost to Centerville, 56-0.

OPPONENTS’ RECORDS: Union City 2-0. Hagerstown 3-0.

RECENT SERIES: Hagerstown, 33-9

LAST MEETING: Hagerstown, 14-0, Sep. 6, 2019: Not a lot of scoring, but enough for Hagerstown to pull off a 14-0 TEC win. Tigers QB Noah Snodgrass was solid going 14-25 for 145 yards and 2 scores. Running the football was an issue and Hagerstown was a minus-35 on the night. The Indians also struggled gaining only 128 yards of total offense.  The Tigers are coming off a loss to Centerville 56-0 last week, with the Bulldogs amassing 411 yards of total offense, 219 all-purpose yards by RB Jamari Pamplin.

Union City was beaten by Tri in their season opener 35-12. The Indians’ defense was playing on the short field all night as the Titans were able to take advantage of good field position. RB Vade Dishman led the Titans with 181 yards on just 15 carries. The good news for the Indians this week…no Vade Dishman on the other side of the football.
