Indiana center Joey Brunk has decided he will play his final year of college basketball elsewhere. The fifth-year senior is eligible for another season because of COVID-19, as do all winter athletes.
“I’m incredibly grateful for Indiana University,” Brunk posted to Twitter. “I have been able to get my Master’s Degree and am thankful to have been able to continue my education. I’ve decided to pursue my final year elsewhere. Thank you, Indiana.”
The former Butler Bulldog averaged 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in the 2019-20 season while shooting 52%. Brunk didn’t play last season because of back surgery.
Brunk is the second senior to leave the IU program. Al Durham transferred to Providence.
