BLOOMINGTON, Ind.  – Indiana Women’s Basketball has announced its 2017-18 non-conference schedule, highlighted by seven home games and five opponents who made the NCAA Tournament last season.

A total of 13 non-conference games will prepare the Hoosiers for the Big Ten slate, with seven opponents coming off of postseason appearances in 2016-17. Five made the NCAA Tournament last season (Western Kentucky, Chattanooga, Louisville, Auburn, Missouri) while two appeared in the WNIT (St. Mary’s, Virginia). IU is also facing five opponents it also met in the 2016-17 season.

“I’m really excited about the schedule we’ve put together,” Indiana head coach Teri Moren said. “It features a lot of high-level opponents which will be great early tests for our program. I’m looking forward to the games we will play in front of our home crowd and the schedule as a whole will without a doubt prepare us for Big Ten play.”

The campaign kicks off with four-straight home contests, beginning with Arkansas State on Nov. 11. IU will face Southern University (Nov. 14) before return games from a season ago with Western Kentucky (Nov. 17) and Chattanooga (Nov. 20).

The Hoosiers will head west for the St. Mary’s Classic in Moraga, Calif., over Thanksgiving weekend where they will face UAB (Nov. 24) and the host Gaels (Nov. 25).  Returning home, Indiana faces Louisville in the previously announced Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Nov. 30) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Another return game from last season opens December at home against Auburn (Dec. 3) before the Hoosiers visit Northern Kentucky (Dec. 5) and the final non-conference home game against North Texas (Dec. 9).

Taking a break for finals week, Indiana then hits the road for the final three non-conference matchups of the season beginning with the inaugural West Palm Invitational in West Palm Beach, Fla. where they will meet Virginia (Dec. 17) and Missouri (Dec. 18). A road contest at Yale (Dec. 21) will be the final tune up for Big Ten play.

Indiana will also host one exhibition game, which will be announced at a later date. All start times and TV designations along with the entire Big Ten league schedule will also be announced at a future date. Currently, the team is preparing for its first foreign tour since 2009, when it visits Italy August 2-11.

2016-17 was one of the Hoosier record books where they set a program record of 23 wins and advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT. They set new program records for points scored in a season (2,547) and in average home attendance (2,955) while also finishing fourth in the Big Ten. Moren enters her fourth season at the helm of the program as seniors Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill will play their final season in Cream and Crimson.
