IU EAST’S HAYGOOD EARNS RSC MEN’S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — IU East freshman Tamare Haygood won an event and set a school record to claim River States Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Jan. 13-19.

A native of Henrietta, N.Y., Haygood won the long jump to highlight his strong day at the Indianapolis Collegiate Championship. He had a distance of 6.71 meters for the win. Haygood was third in the high jump and set a school record at 1.95 meters.

Haygood also ran the 60-meter hurdles on the track and turned in a second-place finish at 8.39 seconds. The Red Wolves will be at the SPIRE Midwest Open this weekend Sept. 24-25.

 

IU EAST’S REYNOLDS REPEATS AS RSC MEN’S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — IU East senior Seth Reynolds won two events at the Indianapolis Collegiate Championship to earn River States Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Jan. 13-19. It is the second week in a row he’s won the award.

Reynolds, from Eaton, Ohio, won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.13 seconds. He already owned the NAIA No. 1-ranked time in that event for the year. He was also a part of the first-place relay in the 4×400. He ran a leg of the 3:24.37 time, which is tops in the conference.

Reynolds also ran the 200 meters with a time of 22.65, which went down as sixth place. The Red Wolves will be at the SPIRE Midwest Open this coming weekend Sept. 24-25.
