MEN'S BASKETBALL PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team pulled away late for an 88-67 win at Carlow University on Feb. 3. NAIA Division II No. 2 IU East (24-2, 13-0) extended its program-best winning streak to 18 victories in a row. Carlow is 4-17 overall and 4-8 in the conference. IU East finished the game on a 26-8 run after Carlow got within 62-59 with about 10 minutes remaining. Charles Peterson made five 3-pointers in the final 10 minutes. IU East's fourth-year seniors - Jacoby Claypool, Lucas Huffman and Brad Hunt - have now been a part of 100 Red Wolf victories. Charles Peterson scored 18 points on 6-for-11 shooting from 3-point range. Datrion Harper matched his season-high with 18 points. Charlie Scharbo led Carlow with 22 points. NAIA Division II No. 30 IU East (18-8, 10-3) allowed just 15 points in the second half and only five in the fourth quarter. Carlow fell to 7-13 overall and 3-9 in the conference. IU East has won six in a row - now the longest winning streak in the conference - and nine of its last 10. Tia King and Mackenzie Campbell combined for 39 points for IU East. Da'Sha Boyd added a season-high 11 points. Emma Stille scored 11 points for Carlow.? IU East hosts No. 21 University of Rio Grande, the River States Conference East Division leader, on Feb. 6. TRACK & FIELD MARION, Ind. - The Indiana University East track and field teams posted four school-record marks at the Midwest Classic on Feb. 3 at Indiana Wesleyan University. Justin Lowe won his heat and finished fourth overall in the men's 600 meter run in a school-record time of 1:23.88. Lowe lowered the program record in the event by more than a second. Sarah Hornak improved on her own school records in both the women's 400 meter run and the women's 800 meter run. She was second in her heat and fourth overall in the 400 in a time of 1:04.46. She was seventh in the 800 in 2:31.27.? The inaugural River States Conference indoor championships will be held Feb. 9 at Tiffin University.
