The Wright State baseball team defeated Xavier 9-7 on the second day of the Joe Nuxhull Classic in Oxford, OH Wednesday afternoon.

The Raiders scored seven runs in the final four innings to post the victory.  Matt Morrow and Gabe Snyder each had two hits of WSU’s nine as Snyder picked up two RBI.  He now needs just one RBI to tie for the all-time Wright State career record.  Seth Gray added two RBI as well as JD Orr ended with two runs, two stolen bases on a hit and a walk.

Bear Bellomy started the game for the Raiders with four earned runs in four innings.  Four Raiders finished the game as Caleb Sampen pitched the seventh frame for his second win.  Derek Hendrixson got his sixth save of the year, striking out two in the ninth.

Wright State, 19-12 and 8-4, will host Youngstown State Friday at 6:30 pm, Saturday at 2 pm and Sunday at 1 pm.
