The Colts have won five straight games against the Vikings dating back to the 2000 season following a streak of five straight wins by the Vikings from 1969-1997. The last time the Vikings beat the Colts was a 39-28 win on December 21, 1997 behind Randall Cunningham’s four touchdown passes.

Minnesota lost to Green Bay in its opener, 43-34, allowing 522 total net yards. It was the most points allowed in a season opener in franchise history and the second-most total yards (526 in 1984 vs. SD).

The Colts lost their seventh straight season opener, 27-20 to the Jaguars. They hold the longest active losing streak in season openers and the second-longest such streak in franchise history (lost eight straight openers from 1984-1991).

Adam Thielen caught six passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns against Green Bay, with both scores coming in the fourth quarter. He is the fourth Viking all time with 100+ receiving yards and 2+ receiving TD in a team’s first game (also Cris Carter, Ahmad Rashad and Rickey Young).

Philip Rivers completed 36-of-46 passes for 363 yards, one TD and two INT in the loss to Jacksonville, his most completions in a season opener in his career. It was his seventh game with multiple interceptions since the start of last season, second most in the NFL behind Jameis Winston (9).

Nyheim Hines had both a rushing and receiving touchdown for the Colts in Week 1. He is only the fourth Colts player all time with a rushing and receiving score in a season opener, joining Edgerrin James in 2000, Tom Matte in 1967 and Lenny Moore in 1961 and 1964.
