These teams last met in Week 1 in 2016, when the Raiders snapped a three-game losing streak against the Saints with a 35-34 win in the Superdome, outscoring New Orleans 22-10 in the fourth quarter. A Michael Crabtree two-point conversion with 47 seconds left provided the final margin after a 61-yard field goal attempt by Wil Lutz as time expired was no good.

The Saints opened their season with a 34-23 win over the Buccaneers. They had just 271 net yards in the game — 189 passing yards, and 82 rushing yards. It was the 105th time in team history they’ve scored at least 34 points, and the 271 net yards are the fewest in any of those games.

The Raiders beat the Panthers, 34-30, in Carolina last week, the fourth time in the last five seasons they’ve started the year with a win. Oakland was called for just three penalties in Week 1, tied for its fewest in a game in the last four seasons (done three other times).

Alvin Kamara had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the week 1 win over Tampa Bay, his seventh career game finding the endzone in the air and on the ground. That’s two more such games than any Saint — Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas each did it five times.

Josh Jacobs had three rushing touchdowns in Week 1, becoming the first Raider to do so since Latavius Murray, who is now with New Orleans, had three in Week 9 of 2016. Only two Raiders have rushed for three touchdowns more than once — Marcus Allen (five times) and Pete Banaszak (twice).

New Orleans had an average starting field position of their own 42-yard line in Week 1, second-best in the league (Baltimore, 44). They forced the Bucs to start at their own 18-yard line on average, worst in the league.
