The Lady Indians opened up their season Saturday night with a road game against
Southern Wells. The Indians were victorious 59-46. Defensive efforts lifted
the ladies after taking a 38-21 lead in the third quarter and outscoring
the Raiders 8-0. The Raiders were able to fight back to cut the Indians
lead to 8 before UC hit some late lay-ups and free throws to open up the
lead to 13 where it wouold remain. The Indians were lead by Mariah Claywell
with 18 points, 5 steals and 6 rebounds. Mackenzie Green added 13 points
with her 4 trey's and Cox and M.Carpenter both added 8 each. Sophia Spence
contributed to the defensive efforts with her 4 steals. The Indians are 1-0
and will be have their home opener on Tuesday against conference opponent

The Junior Varsity was also victorious 46-15 and also move to 1-0. They
were lead in scoring by Jodi Carpenter with 12, Andrea Sanders with 11, and
Mariah Claywell with 11.  Emily Livingston had 8 rebounds and Carli
Rismiller had 5 assists.
