PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Indiana University East junior Bre Nowak moved into the
top 10 at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship following the event's third
round May 24.
Nowak shot 77 for the third day in a row to climb into a tie for 10th place in a
field that started with 157 of the nation's top golfers.
Nowak has a 54-hole score of 231 on the par 72, 5,847-yard Champion Course at PGA
National. She has bested her previous IU East program record for lowest 54-hole
score by five strokes.
Maria Paula Otero from SCAD Savannah leads the individual standings with a 54-hole
score of 216. The next 11 players, including Nowak, are separated by just five
strokes on the leaderboard.
Nowak will start the final round from No. 1 at 8:45 a.m. on May 25 - the same
starting hole and time she had for the third round. Once again, she is in a group
made up of the top three players who made the cut as individuals.
