The five-round order for the draft was announced Thursday by the PVF. Indy Ignite has the first pick in Round 1, eighth pick in Round 2, fourth pick in Round 3, fourth pick in Round 4, and first pick in Round 5, selections 1, 16, 20, 28, and 33.
Having the first overall PVF draft pick gives Indy Ignite an exciting opportunity to choose first from the field of recent college graduates as the team is building its roster for its first season, which begins with opening weekend January 9-12. The full PVF schedule, from January through May, is pending.
“We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have secured the No. 1 pick in the first round. This is a pivotal moment for our franchise, and we can’t wait to welcome an exceptional talent into the Indy Ignite family,” said Mary Kay Huse, president and general manager of Indy Ignite.
Indy Ignite has already signed 11 veteran PVF players, including Sydney Hilley, PVF playoff MVP in 2024, Hoosier star Kylie Murr and Leketor Member-Meneh, who is considered the most powerful outside hitter in the league and has just earned her first career stint as a team captain in the five-week Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball season. When the season opens, Ignite will have a roster of 14 with two practice players.
